Our Journey For Jon-Michael

- Follow us as we drive from Louisiana to Michigan to adopt our second child. We have a beautiful 6-year old daughter, Katelyn and she's looking forward to being a big sister. We’ve thought about adopting another child for several years and finally made the decision to about eight months ago. Katelyn brings us so much joy and we all were ready for an addition to our family. We were listed with an adoption agency and patiently waited for a call to let us know that we had been chosen. It wasn’t long before a birthmother in Michigan chose us to take care of her baby once it was born. We’ve already been to Michigan once and met her and we talk regularly to keep up with her progress. We know it’s going to be a boy, so we picked out the name Jon-Michael Reid for him. The “Jon” is for his Paw-paw and Uncle Johnnie, the Michael is for his daddy and his Ma-maw (her middle name) and Reid is for his Uncle Reid. It seems like the time has gone by so slow since we found out the great news, but it’s almost here! He’s supposed to be born around the first of June and we’ll be there and waiting! Follow our blog to keep up with the latest updates from Michigan with our new addition to the family!

ReplyDeleteHey!!! Marie and I are SO exited for y'all. Seems like yesterday when Dylan and I came over to welcome Katelyn to the neighborhood. Katelyn, you are going to be the coolest sister ever. Have a safe trip. We'll be watching and we'll see you when you get back.

Great news!! Adoption is a incredible gift of love. This little boy is blessed to be going to such a great family. I hope things go well for you in Michigan, and that your trip results in wonderful stories for your return. Get ready dad....a little boy will change your life forever!
